My ballet career is over

So, I've been a bit quiet over the last few weeks...

I've not written a blog for quite a few weeks, (well, more than a few weeks) unfortunately at the start of February I fell down the stairs carrying the laundry and broke my patella tendon (I wish the story was more exciting than that).

Emergency surgery and lots of physio later and I am now on the road to recovery, but I've got a few more weeks until I can walk properly, and several months before I can break out the 'dad dancing' (that's not a bad thing).

Good news is, I can get to gigs, although I do need a driver as the bend in my knee isn't enough (yet).

So, enough about me, let's talk music and there is one song that is filling the floor at the moment and it's this from Beyoncé and Texas Hold 'EM.

A detour from her usual sound, but wow, she smashes it and has produced this biggest ear worm of 2024, so far!

So that's my BIG tune for now, but what about last year, what were we playing?

I can reveal the top five most requested songs of 2023 were:

1 Whitney Houston I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)

2 ABBA Dancing Queen

3 The Killers Mr. Brightside

4 Earth, Wind and Fire September

5 Neil Diamond Sweet Caroline

So the old classics were a hit, but what would be on your playlist?

We said a few weeks ago that we would bring you a new tune every week, well, we broke that new year resolution last week (oops). We actually had a weekend off and we decided to completely down tools, which was lush, but now we are back at it and raring to go with another (Smashy and Nicey voice) another poptastic belter. (Please tell us you remember Smashy and Nicey?) Pop music is like a chameleon, constantly evolving to fit the tastes and trends of each generation. What's popular today may be old news tomorrow. But, sometimes familiarity can be a good thing, and that's why we've chosen this tune from Ava Max and Kygo as our 'BIG' new music floor filler for this week. It has the perfect combination of vocals, uplifting melodies and a little hint of Shakira, which we love (those hips don't lie). Check it out...

Welcome to one of the first DJ in Cornwall blog posts!! Here we will talk about music, weddings, events and DJ equipment, as well as being the home to exclusive DJ mixes. Album review - Now 109! A staple diet for any mobile DJ and pop fan; the latest in the Now albums offers 48 of the latest chart hits. Unlike some of it's predecessors, Now 109 has more killer than filler, which means there are some great songs on this album! There are two discs of chart-topping hits including Olivia Rodrigo’s good 4 u, Lil Nas X’s MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name), Justin Bieber, Daniel Caesar & Giveon’s Peaches and many more! NOW 109 is a great soundtrack to Summer 2021.
